Well since retailers are starting to advertise it and even take advanced orders, how about letting the cat out of the bag and revealing some info Anet?
Especially: is it as big as Prophecies (or close to) PvE, the number of missions, area sizes etc? As things like that will influence buying decisions this time round (after Factions did disappoint, not everyone liked it)
Prices and release dates to be expected there may be variances but content advertising needs to be addressed ASAP.

If I've read the signs correctly the team creating nightfall is the same team who created chapter 1, if half of what eb site claims is true it looks like odd numbered chapters dev team ftw.

While I understand the extreme time pressure Anet is under, and the desire to not state some features that might not make it (like say customisable henchies), I also think that Anet could do a little better in stating what's actually happening.

Yay! Create your own unique spike-team without having to go round to someone's house and kill their loved ones before they oblige to try it your way.
Yay! Make your own 8-warrior tank-team. No one dies because they've got mending.
Yay! Get your female mesmers armour off and get all 8 of them to dance in sync whilst you take screenies.
And when you're done with that, kill them in all in HvH!

Uhh...
/insert crappy 5-min Paint job
So..like that? We get to beat the Elite 4 too?
*Alesiashu is now level 15!*
*Alesiashu is trying to learn a new skill "WORD OF HEALING"*
*However, Alesiashu already knows 5 skills. Should one skill be forgotten to make room for WORD OF HEALING? *
*yes/no*
*which skill should be forgotten?*
*1, 2, 3... and... poof! Alesiashu forgot RUSH INTO BATTLE*
*And...*
*Alesiash learned WORD OF HEALING*
But since it won't be retro-activ, we can only dream...

I can see why it would be useful to customise henchie skill sets, but I don't think it should be a major point about the game. After all, it's supposed to be an online game playing with/against other human players.
I've noticed Factions, aside from being relatively empty compared to the height of Prophecies popularity, there were a lot more people running around with full teams of henchies or mostly henchies. Just my thoughts, but that seems to be against the whole idea of the game... it's not "Bot Wars" surely.
Part of that admittedly is down to not enough people around, and also the quest/mission structure isn't very good - go to one place to do part of the story; then you can map to a town you've already been to to continue iet (net result, people have already left the party by then thinking it's over, and continue with henchies)
I hope that's one trend that is seriously reversed and it goes back to the (mostly) human teams of Prophecies.

Due to the quality of PuGs henchies are the only option I have if no friends and guildies are on. I've been burned so often by:
afker: those jerks that join a mission or quest and then sit there not doing anything
map unlockers: those jerks that rather than take henchies to unlock that single spot of the map, join the mission, run off to unlock the map, run back to the group followed by several groups of mobs, then map out causing the rest of the group to wipe out.
cap droppers: the jerks who join a group and without saying a word, cap the elite they wanted then drop from group.
A great example is Dragon's Lair. Took me two weeks to kill glint with my monk as each time I tried when the group made it to Glint, there was about 2 to 3 of us left.
So now it's henchies, friends/guildies or I log off in frustration. I do not trust PuGs and will never PuG again while I'm playing GW. If the option to henchie it is someday gone, I will just stop playing or work on attempting to solo.

No they don't but it's pretty likely. Because as you have just layed it out there your putting the Nightfall exclusive characters at a disadvantage.
They will have 10 less skills then those introduced in Factions.
By your math the next campaign would be what?
65 New Class A
65 New Class B
20 x 10
300
Gee, wouldn't that be great for the new classes. How long before either Anet has to put more effort into every campaign to constantly increase the number of skills they have to come up with? It would quickly get out of control.
It's pretty clear I think that when you think about it there's many reasons why Assassin's and Ritualists won't be getting new abilities in Nightfall except for whatever core class may be their secondary.

I quite understand and relate to the quality issues. Hence I agree fixing up the henchies is a good thing, so long as they undo some of the things which have made human team building less friendly e.g. quests/missions which cause you to map back and forth to previous towns - thus people dropping from the party at the first half. The players themselves will always be variable; that's just the internet, you'll have good and bad. However, there were definately some things in Factions which seemed to have had a negative effect (more so) on human parties forming.
Ideally it should be both human party friendly (and at least not discourage it, maybe encourate it a bit more) as well as having capable henchie replacements for when you don't want to team up with humans.

Ya, too bad in my experience the Henchmen are a ton smarter in PvE then the Players.
Case in point, Luxon Mission, Escorting Turtles from the hatchery.
I tried this mission 6x with different groups of players, blew 4 hours trying to get past it. Never succeeded.
I said f**k it and grabbed me a full party of henchmen. Not only did I finish the mission, but I got a Master's level completion.

Customizable henchies. They sound great, but wont that make it even harder to get into a decent group?

Can't wait for the Customizable henches. The one command I have been longing for is STAY!!! Hopefully it will be much easier to control aggro and battles when soloing with henchs.
The Story sounds so-so. I will hold judgement on it until release. I do hope it has more emotion and feeling to it instead of an almost dry commentary. And one hint Anet. Hire better voice actors!! ....and make the cut scenes better. Factions seem very stiff and almost puppet-like.
The hero battle will be interesting...new title for this?

WTF! You know what im thinking??
Well theoretically, if we could customize our heroes, that would definitely mean they would have their own inventory! if that's the case! good bye to solo farming! why?
well if you can control your heroes' inventory and also customize them, you can actually see the drops they get or pick up just like the current henchies! and whatever drop they get, is yours! well this is all theoretical for now!
